[Conference] Evidence-Based Medicine: From Theory to Practice

In 2012 the 1st international conference on “Evident-Based Medicine in Armenia: Myth or Reality?” took place in Yerevan.

Renowned global experts in the field of evidence-based medicine made presentations and conducted master classes (http://www.medlib.am/?page=13). The conference concluded with the adoption of the Yerevan declaration on the consistent promotion of evidence-based medicine (http://www.medlib.am/conference/Yerevan_declaration_final_engl.pdf).

Recent years have witnessed a significant growth in clinical epidemiology and evidence-based practice across the world. The methodology of rating and of making clinical recommendations to include in clinical guidelines is also evolving rapidly and at a pace that is challenging for national healthcare services. Clinicians face equally significant hurdles in keeping abreast of latest innovations in health technology and up to date practice in medicine.  Much of the research and development in health technology assessment accumulates, and is mostly concentrated in the richest countries. Countries in transition and those with restricted resources have similar needs and yet they are often disenfranchised or even left to manage without support. At the same time realizing the importance of promoting public discussions on issues arising with regard to introduction of evidence-based medicine into healthcare practice, we consider it necessary to highlight the need for international collaboration on the above-mentioned problems.

Hereby we invite you to attend the 2nd International Conference on “Evidence-Based Medicine: From Theory to Practice” to be held on 24-26 September 2015 in Yerevan.

We will be sincerely glad to see you in our country. We hope that you will enjoy not only the sessions, while getting new information, but also visiting historical and modern places in Yerevan and Armenia. The photo reportage about visits to such places during the previous conference is available via http://www.medlib.am/?page=con_photo and http://www.biometrica.tomsk.ru/erevan_2.html.

We are sure that this meeting will promote the sharing of best practices in addition to widening of professional and personal contacts.
